OXEMT Re-opening Plans from Saturday 24th April 2021.

Dear Parents,

Firstly, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for choosing to stay with OXEMT to educate your child during the lockdown.

As you are aware, from Saturday 24th April, we will start to welcome back students. Following the recent guidance from the Department for Education, we have been working hard to prepare for the safety and welfare of our students.

To do this more effectively, we have moved back to East Oxford Primary School, where an entire block will be exclusively for our use at weekends.

We understand you may feel anxious about your child returning to tuition. Below, you will find more information about the measures we have taken to make OXEMT a low-risk space for your child.

Enhanced Hygiene Safety Measures

These are the enhanced hygiene safety measures we have taken, in accordance with Government guidelines:

  • Children will be in a teaching space with up to 10 students. They will stay in the same group throughout the lesson. They will not mix with others.

  • Students will be at desks, socially-distanced apart. They will enter the classroom, one by one, according to a class plan, where desks are labelled with their name.

  • Areas of the premises are thoroughly cleaned on a daily basis (before and after the class) with additional cleaning during the day as necessary.

  • Hand sanitiser stations are available at the entrance and in the classroom for students, with soap and hot water in every toilet.

  • Children cannot attend if they, or a family member they live with, have symptoms of Covid-19.

What will children need to bring?

  • Water or drink (not fizzy).

  • Book bag/folder with their notebook and worksheets.

  • As usual, we will provide stationery for your child so they do not need to bring any of these items from home.

The start/end of the day

  • Our lessons will be running on Saturday/Sunday 10-12pm and 1-3pm. Please be on time as the arrival and departure process will now take slightly more organisation.

  • Only one adult is to drop off/collect children.

  • Children must now be dropped off in the East Oxford Primary School carpark behind the school (accessible from Union Street) and enter through this entrance to make their way to the classrooms, observing social distancing rules at all times.

We are looking forward to welcoming your child back to OXEMT!

OXEMT TEAM.
